One Act Play Festival 2024.
After the success of the One Act Play Festival in 2023 at the Marion Cultural Centre, the 3 groups involved are getting together to bring you 3 more wonderful one acts, this time at the St Judes Hall on Brighton Road.
Galleon Theatre Group is presenting THE LAST ACT IS A SOLO by Robert Anderson, directed again by Andrew Clark, following on from the critically acclaimed THE DUCK VARIATIONS.
Synopsis:
Laura Cunningham, once a star, lives amid costumes, props and memories of her career. Too frail to act, she remains fiercely independent and resists her nephew's attempts to move her to the country where she can be cared for. In fact, she has an interview that very afternoon with a theatre director. How will this affect her life ?
Olympia Dukakis, Edward Herrmann and Gavin MacLeod starred in a broadcast on Arts & Entertainment Network. This haunting, beautiful play by one of America's foremost playwrights will amuse and move any audience.
